The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism, has re-established the Air Tourism Committee.
According to an announcement, the Commission will be responsible for seeking and submitting proposals for the development, promotion, dissemination and improvement of air tourism conditions, as well as for the development and strengthening of the country’s infrastructure and regional airports.
At the same time, its responsibilities also include the submission of proposals, opinions and legislative reforms.

The following have been appointed as members of the Air Tourism Committee:
Ioannis Xifaras, Secretary General of Transport, Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport,
Ioannis Raptis, Minister of State for Tourism, Minister of State for Transport and Communications of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport of Greece,
Christos Tsitouras, Commander of the Civil Aviation Authority,
Georgios Saounatsos, Commander of the Civil Aviation Authority
Sotirios Diamantopoulos, lawyer,
Athina Babakou, Head of the Strategic Planning Department of the Ministry of Tourism,
Konstantinos Katsanevas, lawyer, associate of the Deputy Minister of Tourism,
Kyprianos Biris, President of AOPA HELLAS,
Christos Leontopoulos, representative of the Panhellenic Pilots’ Union,
Dimitrios Lymperakis, Managing Director of the General Airport of Athens. Dimitris Limperakis, President of the Lydia Aviation Airport, Dimitrios Lymperakis, President of the Lydia Aviation Airport General Manager,
Spyridon Xerias, responsible for the operation of Amateur Pilot Schools,
Dimitrios Ververelis, professional helicopter pilot,
Maria Gatsou, General Manager of the Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises (SETE).
Mr Xifaras is appointed as the coordinator of the Committee, who will convene and coordinate its work.
The Commission’s term of office will end when it submits its observations and draws up a note with its conclusions to the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport.
It is noted that no compensation is paid to the coordinator, members and the acting secretary of the Commission for their participation in the Commission.
