Aegean Airlines has announced an incident involving a kitten named Rodri that went missing during one of its flights. The airline firmly refutes social media claims regarding a compensation offer of 100 euros to Rodri’s guardians.
In its statement, Aegean Airlines clarified its ongoing collaboration with airport authorities, emphasizing its commitment to locating Rodri. Additionally, the airline addressed misinformation circulating on social media, categorically denying any association with the alleged compensation offer, which it attributes to a fake account not affiliated with Aegean.
The detailed announcement from Aegean Airlines reads:
“We wish to inform you about the incident involving Rodri, a kitten that went missing during its transfer from Chania to Munich via Athens. Aegean Airlines has been working closely with airport authorities from the outset, making every possible effort to find Rodri. Despite our continuous, unwavering efforts, Rodri has not yet been found.
The safety and well-being of all animals traveling with us are of utmost importance. We are investigating the circumstances surrounding Rodri’s transport to and from the aircraft to prevent such incidents in the future.
Important: We also want to clarify that the claim of a 100-euro compensation offer circulating on social media, falsely attributed to Aegean, originates from a fake account and is in no way connected to our company. Aegean’s updates are always exclusively conveyed through our official channels.
We are grateful for your interest and support. Our efforts to find Rodri, in constant communication with her guardians, continue.
