A flight from Paris to Athens caused an emergency landing in Thessaloniki, due to a fight between… due to a fight and chaos caused in the cabin by a French passenger and a friend.
According to reports, the passenger, running amok, started pushing the seat in front of him and arguing with him, threw his food on the floor, grabbed the flight attendant’s hand, and got up from his seat and went to Business Class, with fellow passengers trying to stop him. Eventually, some were able to restrain him, strapping him down for the ensuing boarding process after the aircraft landed at Macedonia.
“During the journey an incident occurred. Already before we went to the airport one of the two men pushed me, but I didn’t pay too much attention and then after we got on the plane he exhibited erratic and aggressive behaviour throughout the journey,” a girl travelling on the flight told Open, adding: “One in particular must have been rather deaf and dumb and communicated with the other man in sign language, who exhibited the strange behaviour. He got into a confrontation with many passengers even pushed the chair of the person in front of him, threw his food on the floor of the plane and got up and went to Business Class, I imagined he was going to the pilot and was scared because the flight attendants were trying to get him to his seat.”
The pilot apologised for the inconvenience and explained that he had to land for everyone’s safety before continuing – after a delay of about two hours – on his way to Athens.
