Fraport Greece is hosting the 14th annual ACI EUROPE 14th Regional Airports Conference & Exhibition (RACE 2023) for the first time in Greece. The meeting will take place between 25-27 April 2023, in Chania, Crete.
More than 150 executives from the regional airports community from all over Europe will meet in the beautiful city of the Megalossos island. There, they will exchange views, thoughts and best practices on issues related to the aviation market.
At the same time, they will have the opportunity to participate in a number of thematic sessions, including, among others, the development of airport connections, innovation, diversity and inclusion team staffing, processes and the need to transition to a green and digital airport, etc.
The ACI EUROPE RACE conference which has become an institution in the aviation market, and beyond, is the only event in the aviation world dedicated to Europe’s regional hubs and smaller airports.
With an annual frequency, this conference is held under the auspices of the International Council of Aviation (ACI), which represents more than 500 airports in 55 European countries. It is worth noting that the participating airports cover more than 90% of commercial air traffic on the Old Continent.
The previous annual meeting of ACI EUROPE RACE 2022 was held in Palermo, Italy, hosted by GESAP S.p.A. – Aeroporto di Palermo, while the city that will take the baton for next year’s event will be announced during the conference in Chania.
Alexander Zinell, CEO of Fraport Greece, said. “We are thrilled that the industry is recovering and the desire of passengers to travel remains unabated.
However, airports, especially regional airports, face multiple challenges above and beyond the rapid growth in passenger numbers. As the company that has made one of the largest ever investments in host country Greece, we are committed to making this year’s meeting as special as the host city.”
Olivier Jankovec, Director General of ACI EUROPE, said. “They are at the forefront of our industry’s climate action and de-emission of air emissions”.
