AEGEAN’s new three-year exclusive partnership with TUI France from Lille was announced at an event organised by TUI France and Lille Airport, with the participation of AEGEAN’s commercial management.
At the event held in Lille, France, at the end of last week, TUI France’s enhanced programme of summer and winter destinations and packages (42 Club) in Greece, Spain, Tunisia, Morocco, Bulgaria, Croatia and Montenegro, etc., which will be served exclusively by AEGEAN’s direct flights from Lille airport, for which a new regional base will be created in the coming months.
It is recalled that just last summer, AEGEAN and TUI France celebrated the 20th anniversary of their cooperation in Athens.
A partnership that has enabled more than 10 million travellers from France to visit the country and establish the Greek brand name in this market.
“AEGEAN is an airline that combines excellent service quality, reliability and a genuine customer-centric culture which is really what we want to offer our passengers.
That’s why choosing AEGEAN as our exclusive partner at Lille airport was a no-brainer for us. Greece is our most important and strongest market, so we couldn’t help but partner with the largest Greek airline,” commented Dirk van Holsebeke, CEO of TUI France.
On the part of AEGEAN, Mr. Pierre-Emmanuel Duband, Director of International Sales, said: “We are very pleased to extend our partnership with TUI France for three more years and to return to Lille airport.
TUI France and AEGEAN share the same values and commitment to high quality service to our customers, which is why we have been working together effectively for more than 20 years, having earned the recognition of our travellers.”
AEGEAN is constantly increasing its presence in the French market, as it is one of the main target markets, not only for the company, but also for Greek tourism as a whole.
Through continued investment in the French market in 2022, it implemented a particularly extensive network, connecting directly the largest French cities with popular Greek destinations (Athens, Corfu, Heraklion, Kalamata, Mykonos, Rhodes and Thessaloniki) and carried more than 700,000 passengers in just one year.
At the same time, it increased the number of positions offered by about 10% compared to 2019. Activity will be similar this summer season, offering around 1 million seats, in order to reinforce the strong demand recorded last summer by this market, with Lille airport and our partnership with TUI France acting as a boost.
In particular, this summer season, which is expected to start earlier, AEGEAN will connect Athens with Paris, Nice and Bordeaux with regular flights and increased frequencies, Nantes, Lyon, Lyon, Toulouse, Lille and Marseille, as well as Thessaloniki to Paris and Heraklion to Paris, Deauville, Lyon, Nantes, Bordeaux, Marseille and Toulouse.
In addition to regular flights to and from Athens and Heraklion, AEGEAN will operate flights to popular destinations in Greece (Heraklion, Rhodes, Corfu, Kalamata), Spain, Bulgaria, Croatia and Montenegro from Lille airport in the framework of its exclusive cooperation with TUI France.”
It is worth noting that Lille airport accounts for around 20% of all TUI France travellers in France, as it offers luxury accommodation and direct flights to more than 20 popular tourist destinations and AEGEAN will be the exclusive carrier of the leading tour operator from Lille.
