With the awarding of 10 lines to 2 contractors, the companies SKY express and Olympic Air, the first phase of the great competition of the barren air lines ended.
SKY express was declared the contractor for 6 routes and Olympic Air for 4.
It is noted that the initial competition for the barren lines concerned 28 routes, of which 10 were declassified as “barren”, 10 were declared contractors, 2 showed no interest (Kalamata – Kythira – Thessaloniki and Athens – Kozani – Kastoria) and others 6 (Thessaloniki – Corfu, Corfu – Aktio – Kefalonia – Zakynthos, Rhodes – Karpathos – Kasos – Sitia, Rhodes – Kastellorizo, Rhodes – Kos – Kalymnos – Leros – Astypalaia and Limnos – Mytilini – Chios – Samos – Rhodes) a new announcement is expected, as well as for the new barren line Ioannina – Heraklion.
The lines assigned to SKY express
SKY express was assigned the exclusive right to operate the following air routes from 01.02.2023 to 31.01.2027:
* Athens – Astypalaia, against a total financial compensation (without VAT) of 2,116,042.95 euros,
* Athens – Syros, against a total financial compensation (without VAT) of 1,697,695.43 euros,
* Athens – Kalymnos, against a total financial compensation (without VAT) of 2,918,609.91 euros,
* Thessaloniki – Skyros, against a total financial compensation (without VAT) of 1,075,328.91 euros,
* Alexandroupoli – Sitia, against a total financial compensation (without VAT) of 2,949,208.3 euros and
* Aktio – Sitia, against a total financial compensation (without VAT) of 2,947,756.45 euros.
The lines assigned to Olympic Air
Accordingly, OLYMPIC AIR was assigned the exclusive right to operate the following air routes from 01.02.2023 to 31.01>2027:
* Athens – Leros, against a total financial compensation (without VAT) of 3,862,320.00 euros,
* Athens – Skyros, against a total financial compensation (without VAT) of 2,000,320.00 euros,
* Athens – Sitia, against a total financial compensation (without VAT) of 1,819,840.00 euros and
* Thessaloniki – Limnos – Ikaria, for a total financial compensation (without VAT) of 3,026,320.00 euros.
