An Emirates Boeing 777, operating flight EK209 from Athens to New York, hastily returns to Athens airport. Newest information say that CIA has informed Greek authorities about a suspect passenger of the flight, with the plane ordered to return to Athens immediately. Earlier, unconfirmed information spoke of a hijacking attempt, which however was not successful, as the crew is locked in the cockpit.
The only thing that is certain is that the flight changed course – as seen by ATHspotter – while it was over Italy, with the captain of the aircraft requesting to land immediately and heading towards Athens.
Earlier, Dubai-bound flight EK210 missed take-off and while the Boeing 777 was in the process of taxiing, it was ordered to turn back. The aircraft was evacuated and a check was made by the Anti-Terrorist men on the passengers.
