Zela Aviation, counting 17 years of experience in the aviation industry with offices in the UK, Cyprus and Greece, poses a significant challenge: To establish Sitia Airport as an “alternative gateway to Crete”, starting a constructive partnership with Municipality of Sitia.
This cooperation is based on the targeted approach to the market of Tour Operators as well as direct contacts with important airlines that operate scheduled series of charter flights.
The airport of Sitia, located in the eastern part of Crete, with the new terminal built in 2015 and an area of 7,500 square meters, is able to welcome a large number of arrivals every day. It is worth noting that it has a runway length of 2,040 meters, the total terminal capacity per hour is 900 passengers, while it has 3 aircraft parking spaces.
Meanwhile, Zela Aviation announced its regular cooperation with the Egyptian low cost and charter flight company FlyEgypt, which will undertake to promote the availability of FlyEgypt’s 737-800 and 737-700 for ACMI Lease from October 2022 .
It should be noted that FlyEgypt is a growing airline based in Cairo, Egypt, founded in 2014. The company has a fleet of 8 aircraft and serves 12 routes in the Middle East and 30 routes throughout Europe.
Zela Aviation President, Andreas Christodoulidis, said he is “pleased to support and offer to FlyEgypt, an airline we know well, and this is beneficial for both companies as it will further strengthen our partnership”.
