Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain and World’s Most Improved Airline 2022, celebrated 40 years of direct flights between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Greece on October 10, with 2 celebrations organized in Athens by Athens International Airport and the company to commemorate this anniversary.
On the one hand, the celebration included an event for media representatives who had the opportunity to discuss with Gulf Air’s Acting Chief Executive Officer, Captain Waleed AlAlawi as well as members of the airline’s executive management and Athens airport officials about the news of the two organizations.
On the occasion, Captain AlAlawi said “The Kingdom of Bahrain and Greece have developed very strong commercial ties, while at the same time the Athens route is of particular value to Gulf Air, as it connects both countries with significant tourist flows between them .
The company’s flights to Mykonos and Santorini have just been completed, as the summer season served for the second time the specific itineraries that are particularly popular among our passengers.
In addition, Gulf Air recently launched a stopover program in Bahrain, whereby passengers can choose to spend a few days discovering all that the destination has to offer.
The program particularly serves Greek travelers when, starting from Athens, they visit Bahrain as a stopover destination to the Middle East, the Arabian Gulf, the Indian Subcontinent and the Far East. We look forward to another 40 years of successful flights to Athens and we are confident that Greek passengers will enjoy the products and services of our customer-centric company.”
