Traffic at the Athens International Airport “El. Venizelos” is gradually returning to the record levels recorded before the pandemic and the lockdowns. According to the latest available data, the passenger traffic of Athens Airport, in September 2022, amounted to 2.58 million passengers, reduced by 3.9% compared to the traffic of 2019.
Domestic passenger traffic reached and exceeded 2019 levels by 1.5%, while international passenger traffic showed a single-digit decline of 6.3%.
Overall, during the first nine months of 2022, the airport’s passenger traffic reached 17.3 million and remained down 13.6% compared to 2019.
Domestic passengers remained below 2019 levels by 7.4%, while international passengers by 16.3%, respectively.
