Lockheed Martin, the Hellenic Aerospace Industry and the Hellenic Air Force held an official ceremony to inaugurate the industrial works at HAI and celebrate the delivery of HAF’s fifth aircraft upgraded to the F-16 “Viper” configuration.
“The successes we’ve seen in the HAF F-16 program are the result of many men and women working together over many years,” said Greg Ulmer, executive vice president of Lockheed Martin Aeronautics. “Today’s ceremony confirms that when we work together with our allies, governments and industry, we can deliver capabilities that strengthen peace, alliance partnerships and allow us to collectively stay ahead of emerging threats around the world.”
Through industrial cooperation activities spanning more than two decades under the PA F-16 programs, Lockheed Martin will have delivered more than $1 billion in economic benefits to the Greek defense industry and the PA by the time the current F upgrade program is completed -16 Viper.
Specifically, Lockheed Martin has funded a total of more than $210 million in ODA activities, known as Security of Supply and Information (SSI) Agreement projects, which focus on improving and strengthening ODA’s technical capabilities and infrastructure to upgrade the F-16 in Viper configurations, facility improvement, aircraft manufacturing as well as Maintenance Repair and Overhaul. Lockheed Martin also has contracts with ODA for F-16 and C-130 aircraft subassembly manufacturing work and technical assistance. Lockheed Martin’s programs have created more than 350 new ODA jobs by 2021, the most in a decade.
