John Travolta
John Travolta loves to tell the world about how much he loves to fly. He has a collection of five planes including a Boeing 707 commercial craft which is emblazoned with the Qantas logo. The actor is a goodwill ambassador for the Australian airline. His home even has a 1.4-mile landing strip. He once piloted passengers to Australia for an episode of “Oprah.” Also, Travoilta wrote a book titled Propeller One-Way Night Coach about his son Jett’s first flight.
Harrison Ford
Ford has said his favorite aircraft from his collection is his De Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver seaplane. The Indiana Jones actor also can fly helicopters. He has made the news for his helicopter-based search and rescues of stranded hikers. He even survived a 1999 helicopter crash. Just this year he survived a WWII single-passenger plane crash.
Tom Cruise
The Top Gun star – aka ‘Maverick’ – has been flying since mid-90s. He’s not flying fighter jets. The actor takes to the skies in one of his business jets. He has several private jets including a Gulfstream GIV. He also owns a World War II Mustang.
Gisele Bundchen
The international supermodel can be seen on another runway. In 2009, Gisele Bundchen became a qualified helicopter pilot. She even learned while she was pregnant! She went through flight school as part of her role as UN Environmental Ambassador. Bundchen is involved with a program to find an alternative source of jet fuel.
Angelina Jolie
We saved the best for last. What doesn’t this woman do? The beautiful Hollywood A-lister has been flying since 2004. The Academy Award winning actress mostly flies single-engine Cessnas and Cirruses. Since we’re talking about Angelina Jolie, we need to mention Brad Pitt. Turns out her husband is also a lover of flight. Pitt was inspired to purchase a Spitfire after he was inspired by Fury, the World War Two action film he starred in.
